amphibianreptile_small.jpgIn today's world, mammals control the planet. But not long ago, it was the reptiles who ruled our world. Like all animals, they have rules: find something to eat, pass own th genes, and not get eaten.

Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrates. Like all cold-blooded animals they are clawed and get their heat from the sun. They are sluggish until their body heats rises. They are distinguished by being protected by scales or a bony-plate. Their survival is owed to their ability to make amazing adaptations to live in inhospitible places on earth.

The first part of their life is lived in the water where the eggs are laid. After becoming a tadpole that swims, they metamorphosize into a land animal.
